Objective: To execute assigned tasks accurately and on time to ensure continuous production progress.

Position in Organization: Reports to the Supervisor.

Description of Duties

Work is carried out based on assignments received from the supervisor and/or work preparation/planning department. Knowledge is required of the welding robot, welding processes (MIG and stud welding), materials and material properties (steel) -mainly thin sheet material with a thickness of approximately 3 mm, reading technical drawings (weld length, size, symbols), the use of welding fixtures and rotary tables, visual requirements of weld seams, and the use of UV lamps and chemicals for leak testing of weld seams. Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments and measurement techniques is required, as well as operation of a PC and the installed software. Reading knowledge of the German language is required for machine operation.

Preparation

• Visually and dimensionally inspecting supplied semi-finished products using measuring instruments prior to further processing, in accordance with the drawing

• In the event of deviations, determining the usability of semi-finished products in consultation with the QA department and documenting any corrective actions in the documentation package

• Creating the corresponding program

• Installing the correct fixture on the rotary table of the welding robot and positioning components in the fixture according to the drawing

• Verifying correct program operation based on the drawing

Execution

• Making corrections to welding parameters during the process where necessary to ensure a high-quality end result

• Checking dimensions and squareness of welded products using gauges and digital calipers, and making adjustments if necessary

• Checking air and oil tightness of weld seams using chemical fluids and a UV lamp

• Checking the strength of stud weld bolts using a torque wrench
