Ironwork at the luxury shipbuilding facility, work duties include reading technical drawings, welding, MIG-MAG method, materials vary from steel, stainless steel and aluminium, grinding, polishing and assembly of various metal components into a newly built ship, such as doors, railings, handles, support structures, windows, latches, etc.

The stretcher will carry out work activities within the shipbuilding department. In this department, complex sections are assembled and fitted together to form a complete hull. This work is carried out both on a flat floor and on a slipway.

The key characteristics of the stretching work at Scheepswerf Slob are:

• Relatively thin material, with a maximum thickness of 8–10 mm.

• A high level of accuracy is required. The permitted tolerance is between +2 mm and –4 mm. The maximum deviation over a length of 6 metres is –3 mm.

• Ability to work independently.

• The stretching work must be carried out according to the Dutch-language stretching procedure of Scheepswerf Slob.

• Ability to read and understand the Dutch-language stretching procedure of Scheepswerf Slob and perform the work in accordance with this procedure.

• The stretcher must be able to communicate in Dutch and/or English.

• Ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
