Employment contract
For a long-term < 3 year and stable period, we have a challenging project at a data center for experienced and independent insulation sheet metal workers.
An insulation sheet metal worker in an industrial data center setting plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal thermal performance and protecting critical infrastructure. Their main responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair sheet metal cladding that covers insulation materials applied to piping systems, HVAC ducts, and various mechanical installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Measurement and Preparation:Accurately measure pipes, valves, fittings, and equipment requiring insulation cladding. Prepare templates and cut sheet metal panels (typically aluminum, stainless steel, or galvanized steel) to fit precisely around complex geometries.
Installation of Sheet Metal Cladding:Install sheet metal jackets over insulation materials to protect against mechanical damage, moisture, fire hazards, and environmental factors. Ensure that the cladding is tightly secured using appropriate fasteners, rivets, or welding techniques as required.
Fabrication On-site:Perform on-site fabrication and adjustments to sheet metal components to guarantee a perfect fit around obstacles and irregular shapes. This includes bending, shaping, and assembling metal sheets using hand tools and power tools.
Sealing and Finishing:Seal seams, joints, and edges with proper materials (such as sealants, tapes, or soldering) to prevent water ingress and ensure airtightness. Finish surfaces neatly to meet safety and aesthetic standards.
Inspection and Quality Control:Regularly inspect installed cladding for defects, corrosion, or damage and carry out necessary repairs or replacements. Work closely with insulation installers and quality inspectors to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all safety protocols relevant to working in a data center environment, including confined spaces, height work, and cleanroom conditions. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Collaboration and Reporting:Coordinate with project managers, insulation specialists, HVAC technicians, and other trades to ensure smooth project progression. Report progress, challenges, and any deviations from plans promptly.
Working Conditions:
Work is often performed indoors in temperature-controlled data center facilities but may involve access to mechanical rooms, tunnels, and service corridors.
Tasks require physical fitness, manual dexterity, and precision.
May involve working at heights or in confined spaces using scaffolding or lifts.
The role demands an eye for detail and the ability to follow technical drawings and instructions accurately.
The company specializes in the insulation of industrial piping systems to improve energy efficiency, protect personnel, and ensure operational safety. The primary method involves applying high-quality insulation materials around pipes, which are then covered and secured using sheet metal cladding.
Typical tasks include:
Measuring and assessing industrial pipes and equipment to determine insulation requirements.
Cutting, shaping, and fitting insulation materials such as mineral wool, foam, or fiberglass around pipes, valves, and vessels.
Fabricating and installing sheet metal jackets (cladding) to protect the insulation from mechanical damage, weather conditions, and corrosion.
Sealing joints and seams in the metal cladding to ensure durability and prevent moisture ingress.
Working according to technical drawings, project specifications, and safety standards.
Collaborating with other disciplines such as welding, piping, and mechanical teams on site.
Performing inspections and maintenance on existing insulation to identify and repair damage or wear.
At least 2 years of experience
Valid IPAF certification for operating aerial work platforms (cherry pickers)
Basic VCA safety certification
We offer a private room located 20 minutes from the project site, with cooking facilities and private sanitary amenities. A good salary paid weekly. A professional agency and a professional client who value craftsmanship.
